Julie & Roger  have been using a new paint that is u/v reactive. It is available in six colours and as can be seen from the photographs below it is bright in daylight and extremely bright in the dark  with the  u/v light on. Switch the u/v light off and it disappears. It is more labour intensive to create than the previous blue glow in the dark wall mural paint, but the effects are amazing. ( please note that this paint is only for use on wall murals, our glow in the dark ceiling constellations  use the  glow in the dark paint that glows in the dark, but is not visible in the light. )

Daniel loves Dinosaurs

Daniel loves Dinosaurs and his own space. The rear doors in his apartment gave a cold light into the corridor.

Julie sourced an image of Dinsaurs that could be used as a window film. The result is a warm, friendly enclosed space with plenty of multi -coloured light and also  offers an additional layer of protection in case the window is broken.

Aaron has a sense of humour

Our brief was to brighten up a bedroom for a young man who is non verbal. He can however indicate his likes and dislikes very clearly. He has a tremendous sense of humour. Unfortunately he is prone to breaking things so it was necessary to come up with ideas that hopefully he will enjoy and are robust enough. We decided in conjunction with his care workers to use brightly coloured cartoon images that reflected his collection of cars. The window film covered the entire glass area, but the images were only printed part way up . This enabled him to see out of his windows but still gave him privacy.  Although once the film is on it is very difficult to remove there is even less chance since the entire glass area is covered leaving no exposed edges.

A Foamex panel featuring the same characters was also screwed and  taped to the wall to contnue the theme. In addition he had a Night Sky ceiling with the International Space Station, Space Shuttle, UFO and various planets.

Once the room was completed and he was shown what had been done for him, it was obvious from his behaviour that it was a resounding success. Hopefully it will last for some considerable time.

Aquatic bathroom panels

Joanne loves fish, the brighter the better, and her carers wanted to brighten her bathroom and lounge to reflect her interests.

Photographs of the world famous indoor Aquarium at Dubai were sourced and these were reproduced onto three foamex panels, 1300mm x 900mm ht and 700mm x 900mm.  The panels are laminated and have wrap around edges that ensure that they will withstand the rigours of condensation in a bathroom/shower room.
